Meet Kayode [https://www.linkedin.com/in/ACoAAAWjKNABpgVkqADaOR3tcNwdLQdydmgRJbM], Founder of Gigmile (Techstars ’22) [https://www.linkedin.com/company/gigmile/].

Before Kayode started Gigmile, he was Country Manager of Jumia Ghana [https://www.linkedin.com/company/jumiaghana/].

His biggest challenge when launching Jumia in Ghana: finding enough drivers to deliver products

Now, thats a bit surprising.

30% of Africas young population are unemployed, but eager to work.

So how is there a shortage of gig workers?

Kayode found that the starting costs to get into gig work are too high.

Aspiring gig workers have no access to banks, and cant access loans for a vehicle.

Thats why he started Gigmile – to partner with Africas young population, get them started in gig work and help them build their own financial futures

Kayode is turning gig work into an opportunity for Africans to get employed and build their own financial futures.

Learn about how Kayode is turning gig work into an opportunity for Africans in the next edition of Prox Weekly.
